“Bikkindaaz” Remember the Village Forest

Jōmin-ichiza “Bikkindaaz”

In "Bikkinder's Singing in the Mountains," exhibited at the auditorium in December 2020, I attempted to return the 'Jo-min' songs originally sung in the 'satoyama' to their homeland, the mountains, and to sense the original sound of folk songs born in nature and the inevitable physicality of those who sing them. As a result, the mountains gave our bodies and voices a transformation beyond our imagination. What kind of "song" will emerge in the completely opposite space of a music hall with the "body and voice of the ordinary people" that we have acquired in the mountains? Even the performers themselves are unpredictable, and we hope you will join us in our attempt.
