vocalconsort initium

vocalconsort initium is a chamber choir founded in 2015 by two conductors studied choral conducting in Europe, Kota Yanagishima (Saarbrücken, Germany) and Kaoru Tani(Vienna and Graz, Austria). Every singer of the choir has diverse professional or specialized technique as well as experience as a soloist or an ensemble singer. Based on such capability, vocalconsort initium pursued heretofore various musical direction - from medieval to contemporary, from Europe to Asia. In Feburuary 2015, the choir played as debut performance Wolfgang Rihm's "Tristis est anima mea", Hanns Eisler's "Gegen den Krieg" and so on. Since that vocalconsort initium made successful four concerts, including the co-sponcered concert by "Hokutopia International Music Festival" in Tokyo.

vocalconsort initium will perform "Übermalung nach Thomas Tallis" (overpainting to Thomas Tallis) by Kinzler from the work "vocalconsort initium ; online concert transition [sen] | transition" which was exhibited at auditorium in August 2020. Mr. Kinzler's improvisational "overpainting" of "Lamentations of Jeremiah" by the Renaissance composer Tallis was recorded on multiple recordings for the auditorium exhibition, and will be performed for the first time using live electronics.
