SAWADA : snare drum solo

As the title suggests, the entire work consists of three small pieces. Each of them is subtitled "beginning", "expansion", and "future trinity", but except for the last piece, they have little in the way of a title, indicating their compositional role in the whole. The idea for this piece was born when I participated in an online festival in France in May 2020.I thought about how to convey the fun of my performance "snare drum solo" in a limited time on the Internet, so I organized several motifs and concentrated them into three parts. In other words, the constructiveness of the performance within the time limit itself became the theme of the piece. Later, in the process of creating the video work, I had a chance to reconsider the content and structure, which led me to the current form. On the other hand, I also perform minimalist concerts where I repeat simple phrases and change them in an improvisational way.I hope you will enjoy "snare drum solo" in various forms.

I wanted to "open up" the possibility of promoting my music to a wider audience, and to make the audience aware of a different kind of music. I come from a rock background, but my biggest influences are shamanic folk music and minimalist trance. I added humour and gags to that backbone to lighten the impression and make the short film more accessible. All the pieces are original compositions written and performed by myself, played on one and the same snare drum. Please enjoy the freedom of ideas therein.
