Naoyuki Manabe
Gagaku (Sho)
In September 2020, Naoyuki Manabe presented a work at the Auditorium in which he explored the possibilities of the SHO. This time, the program includes "Pavane pour une infante défunte," which was performed as an encore at that time. Please enjoy the possibility of deeper performance expression of the sho. This year marks the 100th anniversary of Piazzolla's birth. "Tango 3 brothers", each seeking a new way to play the sho, have just come together to form the group in May 2021. Please enjoy the innovative collaboration between Takeaki Bunko, who was born into a family of musicians who have been performing for 1,000 years and is a keeper of tradition, and KanisasaraAyako, who is also active as a gagaku performer.
