Tomo (企)

The members of "Tomo", will give you a concert in a "radio broadcasting” style, which will be a collection of the original songs and the arrangement works of "Tomo" of Japanese nursery rhymes. Kaburaki and Tamura were in charge of poetry for the original song. The theme of the concert is "Transition". It is the keyword of initium ; auditorium. Watanabe took part in composing and arranging, in addition to voice and piano overdubbing and piano internal playing.

In making the original work this time, the theme of initium; auditorium ,"Transition", was initially introduced. Discussing with members whether to make a song with the image of "Transition", I came to myself as I was just floating on the water.

Various conflicts such as "Where should I go to?", and "What do I want to live while envisioning?" … I thought I would write a poem about my swaying feelings, and fianally I came up with this poem called "Connecting".

I predict that there are still many people who are suffering from various circumstances and who feel that they are left behind, and I think it would be something that "connects to" and "be connected” with somewhere, including my life.
In a sense, I think it's gratifying, annoying, and contains a lot of emotions, but with that in mind, Watanabe has finished the song in a way that I can take a little effort off my shoulders.
I hope you sit back and enjoy this music.

When I received Sachiyo’s poem and first read it, the impression was, "This is serious!" It seemed to reflect the character of the person as it is. It even seemed that she was seriously worried, looking at herself ernestly.
A reality is in a everyday life, where you can feel the laughter that comes out of your mind and the humming while walking in the city. If so, I wanted to maintain the reality of this poem with “everyday life” music. At the same time, I thought it would be a support song for people who are looking at things sincerely.

I tried to write write about the time when I couldn't do anything productive but the night just went by.
Does everybody have such a night? Watanabe depict this feeling and the scene with his sound. Please entrust your heart and ears and listen.

Seeing the transition from a quiet night to the morning in Kaburaki's poem, I wanted to express in music about a person embroiled in such situation, who may never be relieved from something. A cluttered brain, a floating heart, preciousness of loneliness ruthlessness over time and frustration against it.These impressions as a poetry reader may differ from that of the poet. It's a world that everyone seems to have, but my music is a little exaggerated. It's the feeling of intricacy of ordinary and extraordinary. (Ken-ichiro Watanabe)

“Amefuri Otsukisan (A moon in the rain)”- Tomo’s second arrangement-

This is an arrangement of a nursery rhyme "Amefuri Otsukisan (A moon in the rain)", lyric by Ujo Noguchi and compsed by Shimpei Nakayama, mixed with songs, piano and sounds of rain. Among the “Tomo-no-Tomo-wo-Tomo-to-tomoni” posted on YouTube on June 21, 2020, we announced an arrangement version of "Amefuri Otsukisan", and this time I arranged it a little more. When you listen to the original performance by Chiyoko Sato performed in 1929, you might get the impression of a country music style with a violin mix, but my arrangement is based on the feelings of loneliness, mystery, and sexiness that I feel from his poems. Those may be moods hidden in the word "nursery rhyme". (Ken-ichiro Watanabe)
